The NCCCO Foundation provides scholarships to support individuals seeking rigger/signalperson training and certification or crane operator training and certification. All the details about the scholarship and process are available within the application.
The spring scholarship round for the Initial Crane Operator Training and CCO Certification Scholarship is closed. A second round is anticipated to open in August/September. Initial Rigger and Signalperson Training and CCO Certification scholarship applications will be opened in May 2026.
The Initial Crane Operator Training and CCO Certification Scholarship provides up to $10,000 in financial support for individuals who want to get quality training that leads to first-time CCO certification as a crane operator. Scholarship requirements, deadlines, and the process our outlined in the application. For those will little to no experience, it is highly recommended to apply for the rigger/signalperson scholarship available later in the year in order to gain knowledge and skills necessary to be successful in entry-level positions.
In May 2026, the Initial Rigger and Signalperson Training and CCO Certification Scholarship will be opened. These scholarships are intended to assist those with little or no experience seeking entry-level positions or riggers and signalpersons who wish to improve their knowledge and skills in order to advance their careers and improve safety.
