Safety Tools
Free Tools to Improve Safety
In collaboration with the National Safety Council (NSC) Work to Zero program the NCCCO Foundation developed two free safety tools available for use by the crane and rigging industry. The tools are located on separate websites and can be accessed 24/7. A description of the tools and links are provided below.
Available Safety Tools:
- Crane Operations Jobsite Safety Controls Tool –This tool offers a list of controls tailored to address the most significant hazardous situations contributing to serious incidents and fatalities (SIFs) within the crane industry. The list was compiled by searching relevant safety literature and collecting feedback from subject matter experts and practitioners in the crane industry. The controls provided are general recommendations and should be thoroughly evaluated to determine their suitability within your own organization. Access the online tool here.
- Organizational Safety Gap Analysis Tool – This assessment is designed to help you identify gaps and opportunities for improvement in your current systems, practices, and culture to prevent serious incidents and fatalities (SIFs) in the workplace. This tool is based on the National Safety Council’s SIF Prevention Model. Access the online tool here.
